The GRUB self propelled radio control operated crushing and padding/bedding machines, come in three different sizes: A) 4 FT wide, B) 5 FT wide and C) 6 FT wide, suitable to work in trenches from 30" to 48" wide. They are designed and manufactured to solve a difficult problem: It crushes material directly at the bottom of the trench, leaving in its track a layer of fine and homogeneous material, ready to have the pipe laid over it, allowing a considerable saving of money in this stage of the construction.
One operator can control the machines with a simple remote control, from a safe distance, and away from any sources of dust, noise and vibration. In this way, the operator can freely move around the machines during operation. These machines are mounted on high type tracks and equipped with Caterpillar diesel engines model C9ATAAC, offering 325 HP @2,200 RPM; hydrostatic transmissions, and easy to replace grates. Indicated productions per hour are estimated, in optimal working conditions, based on bar screen size: 30 mm, and depending on type of terrain and material specifications.
The hammers are made of special wear-resistant material and their durability depends on the type of rock to be crushed and on the percentage of moisture contained in the material. The most severe wear on the hammers is caused by high percentage levels of silica in the material, as well as by the percentage of moisture.
TRAVEL SPEED: 328 FT to 1,640 FT per Hour (100 to 500 Meters per Hour), depending on type of terrain and material condition.
