The celebrations of the 137th edition of the "Carnevale di Busseto" officially began yesterday, Sunday 28 January. We participated in the city events and we paraded through the streets of the historic center with other carnival float, folk groups and bands from all over Italy.
Our carnival float is named "Musica Maestro”; it is a tribute to the masterful Verdi art. The protagonist is our President Marco Laurini in the role of an orchestra conductor, who directs the orchestra of his master builders, which playing with work tools, instead of musical instruments. With a height of 7 meters, a length of 15 meters and a width of 5 meters, our carnival float was created thanks to the volunteers of the "Amici della Cartapesta" Association of Busseto.
For the next three Sundays (4 - 11 - 18 February 2018), we will take part in the traditional historical parade, which is repeated annually since 1879 thanks to the contribution of Pro Loco Busseto, Municipality of Busseto and Province of Parma.
We also held a photo contest that rewards the funniest selfie, sent to firstname.lastname@example.org until February 28th 2018. In fact, there are two photo-stations located on the back of our carnival float to accommodate the participants.
